| The Board is a state licensing and regulatory agency authorized by the legislature to protect the public against the unqualified, incompetent, unprofessional and unlawful practice of physical therapy. The Mississippi Physical Therapy Practice Act establishes the standards for the practice of physical therapy and defines the scope and limitations of practice. The Board adopts regulations to carry out the laws governing the practice of physical therapy. As a part of its licensing role, the Board examines educational training credentials of applicants, sets standards for continuing competence and makes final licensing decisions on physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. In its regulatory role, the Board receives, investigates, and adjudicates complaints against licensees and others who violate the physical therapy licensing law. Public Announcement:
The Mississippi State Board of Physical Therapy (Board) will hold a “Special Called Board Meeting” on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. The Board will conduct the meeting through teleconference. The meeting is being held for the purpose of allowing the Board to act on the Minutes of the January 24, 2023 Board meeting. Pursuant Section 25-41-7 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, the Committee may vote to enter into executive session to transact business.
Notice of Proposed PTCC Rule Amendment
NOTICE
On August 13, 2020, the Board voted to propose three Rule Amendments. These proposed rule amendments are affecting Title 30, Part 3103, Chapter 1, Rule 1.1-1.11, Rule 1.8.3(I,II,III a-g) and Chapter 10 Rule 10.2. To view these rule amendments, please visit the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ms.gov. Then select Regulation and Enforcement, Administrative Procedures, Search Admin Bulletin then proposed search. Comments on these rule amendments will be accepted by written correspondence or email. All comments must be received no later than April 26, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Notice of Final Adoption of Rule – Effective Date of Final Adoption Rule: November 25, 2019 On April 4, 2019, the Board voted to formally adopt these rule amendments. These final adoptions to the rules are affecting Title 30, Part 3103, Chapter 3, Rule 3.2, Rule 3.3 and Part 3101, Chapter 1, Rule 1.3.6(c)(A-K).
